Job Summary : To perform essential maintenance tasks and coordinate activities with custodial staff to ensure that the building and grounds are a safe, attractive, clean and efficient place in which to learn and work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Effectively and efficiently perform a range of general maintenance tasks, as directed Service, repair and provide preventive maintenance for variety of equipment or infrastructure Mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, etc. to maintain school grounds and athletic fields Plowing and snow removal Perform light carpentry, locksmith, painting, ceiling repair, furniture repair, etc. Support or assist with occasional custodial or cleaning tasks Provide timely response to work orders and maintain accurate records of status - completion Move, relocate or reposition furniture and supplies within and among District facility. Load and unload supplies, assisting with receiving of products and supplies Collaborate and cooperate with contracted service providers and suppliers Notify the Director of Operations of situations that require immediate or future action Report to Director of Operations regarding the status of equipment and systems, and regularly update work order system for completed tasks and projects Provide ordering information for supplies and parts, as needed, and maintain supplies and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of equipment Follow standard operating procedures for installations and repairs Comply with all Work Rules established by the district Observe fire and safety precautions and recognized operating and maintenance procedures Compete required District on-line compliance training Comply with all OSHA work requirements Work collaboratively with outside contractors and report their progress to the Director of Operations. Provide assistance and support, as directed, in all emergency or crisis situations within the district Responsible for using and storing operating power tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner Work cooperatively with all administrative staff, employees, building principals and the public Be responsible for and perform any other duties as may be assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions: The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds in supplies which requires bending, stooping and lifting. The employee must be able to use a variety of instructional materials in the classroom. The employee must use hands and arms to manipulate objects. The employee must use keyboards, tools and other controls. The employee must sit and stand for long periods of time. The employee must have normal vision and hearing with or without aid. The employee must be able to move about assigned location during the day. Education and Experience : Following is a list of qualifications for the position of Maintenance, any one of which may be waived by the Board in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications. High School graduate or equivalent Boiler license preferred Journeyman certification preferred Knowledge and experience working with a variety of maintenance equipment and tools Ability to effectively access and utilize technology systems that support the Operations Effective analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to read and comprehend manuals, instructions, drawings and written instructions Maintain a valid Michigan Chauffeur driver's license and a good driving record Possess good verbal and written communication skills Demonstrating initiative, efficiency and timely follow through on responsibilities. Work independently, achieve and maintain job productivity Evaluation : Job performance is evaluated in accordance with district guidelines.
