The Omni Channel Customer Insights team at Discount Tire is responsible for building and delivering a robust, best-in-class consumer insights practice that ensure customers stay at the heart of all we do. Our consumer and market insights fuels our competitive advantage and strategic vision for the future of tire buying. The role of Senior Customer Insights Strategist is focused on driving the ongoing market, industry, and customer research initiatives that help us to represent the voice of our customers in order to inform business decisions and unlock growth opportunities for our brand. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Quickly translate business needs to approaches for research and learning through consultative conversations across teams and departments. Design and execute research projects, ranging in scope, to fulfill critical business needs. Become an expert on our customers and our competitive market in order to answer critical business questions with recommendations backed in robust and reliable research. Leverage first-party transactional data, third-party syndicated data, and custom research activities to understand macro and micro trends. Analyze and understand trends in the retail and ecommerce industries, identifying key performance drivers, changes in consumer behavior, and adoption of new technologies. Clearly articulate and present actionable insight to cross-functional business leaders and executives to shape ongoing strategy and execution plans. Strategically evaluate new business and channel opportunities through connecting internal data with market research. Plan and gather quantitative research (primarily through surveys) to support Store Operations. Organizes research findings to help develop impactful insights that drive strategy. Compiles and organizes large sets of data for Senior Operations, Regional Staff and store managers. Performs initial analysis to help identify trends to drive growth. Assists in the development and maintenance of surveys to obtain customer data using a variety of channels including web and email. Present a summary of various visualizations of the data, processes or other procedures as needed Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data and identifies opportunities. Performs analysis of large client data sets and provides recommendations for improvement related to the project with limited direction. Proactively determines areas for drill-down focus and conducts follow-up analyses to understand the drivers of performance gaps Assists in developing long-term and short-term actions to meet customer initiative deployment. Works closely with subject matter experts and management to recommend improvement strategies. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of three years in a market research and/or strategy position. Proven ability in researching, identifying and presenting industry trends using external data sources. Highly strategic thinker with an adaptive mindset and ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Strong ability to apply quantitative data analysis techniques to improve work processes. Familiarity with retail, technology, and advertising industry trends and best practices. Strong organizational and project management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven experience in consulting or improving business and/or customer experience processes. Good written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal communication and ability to work well in teams. Experience working in an environment where work activities and deliverables are dependent on a diverse group of technical and business functional experts. Experience working in an emerging and rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, even in a demanding and changing environment. Strong background in customer experience, research and analytics techniques, customer strategy, process improvement, design thinking, agile methodology, and performance management. Educational Requirements This position requires an Bachelor's Degree in a related field or related/equivalent experience.
