Resident Services Specialist Pay Range: $16 - $18 MISSION : Improving the lives of individuals and families through Native American culturally appropriate behavioral health, affordable housing, and community development services POSITION SUMMARY: Participate as part of the "Resident Stabilization Team" to promote on-time rent payments and household stability. The resident Services Specialist's primary responsibility is to increase the consistency of rent collections from residents to ensure family stability and property sustainability in communities that have a senior population. RESPONSIBILITIES: Build relationships with job development & placement organizations for efficient referral for residents who lose their employment or have their income reduced. Focus on services that promote job success and retention. With the assistance of the Property Manager, coordinate and implement outside sponsored and facilitated activities, resident training, and events for residents at assigned housing community. Work one on one with residents having challenges in maintaining sobriety, needing mental health support, or increasing job stability in order to maintain their housing. Assist the property manager with creating a monthly calendar of events at the community. Provide services and programs that benefit the senior communities. Assist with volunteerism projects that increase the support of community programs, community beautification and family engagement. Increase resident engagement in volunteering and community support. Coordinate, monitor and up-date community bulletin board at assigned community. Evaluate the effectiveness of the services through attendance rates, reduced delinquency rates and reduced turnovers. Maintain data that supports resident stability. Documents the effectiveness of all programs through the gathering of data and preparing monthly reports for supervisors. Create and /or supplement the property's resident services book that includes collaborations, outreach and actual events/programs development, implementation and results. Assist on other NAC communities as needed to support the Resident Services Programs Other duties as assigned. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree preferred, or relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT: One or more years in case management, resident services and /or property management. Knowledge of economic, educational, and social problems of Native Americans and referral services Two years experience working with a senior population is required. Bilingual- Fluent in English and Spanish Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. Experience working with the Native American population preferred Access to reliable transportation MS Office Skills INDIAN PREFERENCE: Preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians according to the Indian Preference Hiring Act, CFR 25 USC 472.
