This role involves developing and implementing safety programs, conducting training, and overseeing waste management practices to minimize risks. The EHS Manager also leads incident investigations, monitors performance metrics, and promotes a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization. This position is crucial for maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a safe workplace for all employees. Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs that comply with OSHA regulations and other relevant federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Create and update health and safety policies and procedures within post collection sites and maintenance shops, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hires and ongoing training sessions. Contribute and participate in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring thorough reporting and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Manage the reporting and documentation of incidents to regulatory agencies as required. Promote a culture of safety within the organization through effective communication, leadership, and employee engagement. Coordinate safety committees and participate in safety-related meetings and events. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks. Work closely with other departments and corporate leadership to integrate health and safety practices into operational procedures. Provide guidance and support to site-level operators and leaders. Stay current with changes in health and safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the organization remains compliant and adapts to new requirements. Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance to respective regulatory bodies. Qualifications What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations MSHA regulations, environmental health and safety standards Minimum 2 years experience working with a compliance operating/ tracking platform Preferred experience working in waste industry. Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is highly desirable. Active member of a Safety professional networking organization Preferred DOT Experience Preferred EPA Experience Preferred formal training with Root Cause Analysis Manufacturing industry experience preferred Bilingual Spanish or Creole
