The Brearley School, an independent girls' school serving over 700 students K-12, welcomes candidates to apply for the Part-time Athletic Trainer for Fall 2024. Essential Functions Provide part-time athletic training services including in-person coverage for scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary. Schedule will be M-F from approximately 2:30-6pm. Hours may vary per game and practice schedule. Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the NYS scope of practice. Implements individualized therapeutic interventions and monitors responses to therapy to ensure athlete safety. Reports progress and medical changes to referring physicians, Head Athletic Trainer, and Athletic Director in a timely manner. Educates athletes, families, and coaches regarding injury prevention, injury treatment, participation clearance, and exercise programs. Ensure compliance with NYS-mandated concussion protocol Accurate medical record keeping and documentation per HIPAA guidelines Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited university athletic training program; Master's degree preferred. Current Athletic Trainer certification from NYS. Current and good standing BOC certification. First Aid/CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care for the Professional Rescuer certification. Requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers. Must have strong interpersonal communication and human relations skills. Experience communicating with high school-level parents, administrators, and coaches. Compensation The pay for this position is an hourly rate of $50-$65 based on experience and education.
