Sol de Janeiro is seeking a Senior Manager, Americas Public Relations, to join our high-performing team. This role is specifically focused on driving public relations strategies and initiatives within the Americas region. The Manager, Americas Public Relations will work closely with the Director, Global & Americas Public Relations to adapt global strategies for the Americas market and enhance the brand's visibility, reputation, and consumer engagement across the region. This role is based in the US, preferably in the NY area. The role is a hybrid role, with 3 days required in office. Overall Responsibilities: Americas PR Strategy Development: Develop and implement tailored public relations strategies for the Americas region, ensuring alignment with the global PR strategy while addressing the unique needs and preferences of local markets. Collaborate with the Director to ensure that regional activities are consistent with global initiatives and effectively adapted for the Americas. Product Launches & Campaigns: Lead the development and execution of PR campaigns for brand and product launches within the Americas, crafting narratives that resonate with regional audiences and capture media attention. Work with regional teams to ensure that product messaging is culturally relevant and aligned with local market dynamics. Press Events & Media Relations: Organize and manage press events, media briefings, and intimate gatherings that communicate product key messages and brand differentiation effectively. Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers within the Americas region to secure consistent and positive coverage. Reputation Management: Oversee brand reputation management in the Americas, including monitoring and updating significant online profiles to ensure accurate and positive representation. Respond proactively to media inquiries and manage crisis communication efforts within the region as needed. Regional Adaptation & Execution: Support the adaptation and execution of global PR initiatives within the Americas, ensuring that all communications are culturally relevant and resonate with local audiences. Work closely with regional teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with broader business goals. Industry Engagement & Networking: Enhance the brand's visibility and influence within the industry by maintaining active participation in regional industry organizations and events, such as the Fragrance Foundation and Cosmetic Executive Women. Identify and pursue opportunities for the brand to participate in high-profile industry events and partnerships within the Americas. Support for Executive PR Activities: Assist the Director in managing the CEO's public profile and participation in business and leadership press and events within the Americas region. Coordinate and prepare executive interviews, ensuring consistent communication of the brand's key messages. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the General Manager, Americas, and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent strategy and reporting across all marketing and communications activities within the region. Provide guidance and support to the Assistant Manager, Global & Americas Public Relations, fostering collaboration and ensuring the effective execution of regional PR initiatives. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and analyze PR results and industry trends within the Americas region, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics. Prepare regular reports on PR performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Budget Management: Manage the PR budget for the Americas region, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum impact and alignment with overall business objectives. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 4-6 years of experience in public relations, with a strong focus on managing PR campaigns within the Americas region, preferably in the beauty, lifestyle, or consumer goods sectors. Proven experience in adapting global PR strategies for regional markets and executing successful regional campaigns. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft and convey clear, persuasive messages to diverse audiences. Strong leadership and project management skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Established network of media contacts and PR professionals within the Americas. Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with executives at all levels of the organization. Proficient in digital communication tools and social media platforms for PR purposes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategic decisions and improvements. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player. Passionate about the beauty industry and enthusiastic about Sol de Janeiro's mission and brand values. Adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. #LI-hybrid Salary Range $110,000-$120,000 USD In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
