Our thought-forward, Big Data team is working on a number of data architecture and software-solution projects. You will join this high-caliber team as a Technical Consultant who will work with our clients to implement software-based solutions to fit their needs. Overview In order to help our client effectively support coordinated care across their platform we are looking for a skilled Ontologist to provide advanced analytics in a near real-time manner. Our client's enterprise telehealth platform surfaces significant business and data events from which this can be gathered. Independently, these events provide context on specific states of a business process, in aggregate they can tell a story on the journey of a single patient or provide insights on predicting potential future needs for those same patients. In order for these events to be canonically understood for both internal and external subscribers an organizing taxonomy will need to be created to provide needed structure and context. This role will be responsible for creating the initial structure of this platform event taxonomy, using an initial MVP set of candidate events to inform the first version. Responsibilities Develop a platform event taxonomy, with common logical grouping for business, data, and analytic events. Work in conjunction with business/technical team to 'pressure test' the data structure through validation scenarios Assist in the feedback collection and refinement from event subscribers. Assist in the development of documentation that describes hierarchy levels, and individual event context. Develop guidance for future refinement and extension of the core taxonomy. Experience Business and systems analysis and data classification (5+ years) Proven experience in developing business data ontology and mapping models Experience with common ontology tools for modeling / persistences (HLI, Ontoserver, other) (Nice to have) Working experience with industry clinical ontologies (ex: UMLS) Equal Opportunity Statement BigRio is an equal opportunity employer.
