Foothills Retirement Community is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maintenance Technician to join our team to create a warm hospitality experience for all our residents, staff and visitors. In this position, you will enjoy working with a passionate team to provide quality service throughout our community. What you will do: The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing, coordinating, and supervising various aspects of general and preventive maintenance to protect and maintain buildings, equipment, utility and electrical systems. Job duties also include the following, but not limited to: Perform general and preventative maintenance of all the Community's facilities and equipment. Coordinate resident moves with resident and/or their families. Complete tasks assigned on work orders completely and thoroughly; sign and return all completed work orders to direct supervisor. Assist in fire protection drills to ensure appropriate responses across the Community. Ensure Resident's Rights are protected and maintained at all times. Ensure proper maintenance and repair of all Community vehicles. Ensure proper storage and labeling of all chemicals, including paint. Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. Maintain on-call status when scheduled and respond appropriately. Assist all departments within the Community as directed or requested. Maintain infection control standards and regulatory compliance for areas overseen by State and/or Federal government. Complete reports and records as required promptly and accurately. Participate in all aspects of the Community including but not limited to: disaster preparedness teams, educational training, in-service meetings, annual training, and other trainings as assigned. Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required. Troubleshoot fire alarm and sprinkler systems and respond to emergency calls. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various plumbing problems to include toilet plunging, snaking, or replacements of plumbing parts, piping, etc. Ability to troubleshoot cause of electrical and appliance problems and make basic repairs such as resetting breakers and GFCI receptacles, changing out receptacles, lighting, fans, stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, disposals, etc. Basic troubleshooting of air conditioning systems and diagnosis of problems and changing of filters, cleaning coils, etc. Maintenance of tools and equipment. Moving and assembling furniture. Sheet rock repair and painting. Setup landscape irrigation systems. Required Minimum Education, Experience and Skills : Education : High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Mechanical or maintenance experience required. Basic knowledge of swimming pools and swimming pool maintenance. Ability to use blue prints, drawings, drafts, and schematics in trouble shooting electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, and equipment problems within the campus. Thorough knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and OSHA compliance. Preferred Education Experience and Skills : Education: Technical or Vocational Training in the fields of HVAC, Electrical and/or Plumbing. Experience: Two years' experience in a similar maintenance position desired. HVAC and Universal EPA certifications preferred. CPO certification preferred. General Physical Requirements : • Heavy Work: Employee is required to exert up to l00 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
