Location: New York, New York Type: Direct Hire Job #741 Salary: $90,000 POSITION: Staff Accountant LOCATION: New York, NY (Hybrid - Remote) ORGANIZATION: Top-Tier International Law Firm COMPENSATION: Base salary, commensurate with experience, up to $115,000; Paid Time Off; 401K; Travel; generous bonus, benefits including Medical and Dental Coverage and more! OVERVIEW: Seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Accountant looking to develop a long-term career within the Accounting department of a well-established law firm. Reporting to the Partnership Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of partnership accounting tasks and have exposure to a variety of practice groups within the firm. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain partner/attorney information as it relates to payments, earnings, benefit payments and so on Assists with calculating partner withdrawals for retirement, transfers, interest, and capital contributions Manually prepares journal entries as needed Provide analytical support and information requests to Firmwide departments Process expense reports and invoices, prepare cost batches, wires and checks Prepare and generate Excel Spreadsheets and reports for Partners including cash and billing reports Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports Research and track open Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices Maintain accurate reports and provide to the Tax department to ensure domestic and international reporting requirements are met Analyze trends and investigate discrepancies Prepare account reconciliation; process and analyze account transactions including accrued expenses, journal entries and maintain up to date files Research, analyze and resolve inquiries pertaining to financial transactions Review daily transactions and partner with non-accounting staff as needed Manage balance sheet accounts ensuring integrity by thoroughly reviewing account activity and balances for validity and prepare supporting audit schedules REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; 3.0 GPA or higher 2+ years experience in accounting desirable Must have a CPA or dedicated to the CPA track Strong analytical skills Strong communications skills, both written and verbal Ability to prioritize competing demands under tight deadlines Proficient in Excel and Word Familiarity with Elite is a plus! Strong attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality Willingness to work overtime when necessary
