Position Summary: The EHS Assistant role, under the direction of the EHS Manager, is responsible for various administrative and training duties within the manufacturing facility. They play a key role maintaining the safety program as well as partnering with the Operations team, supporting and consulting with both management and employees. Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Participate in job hazard analysis (JHA) of all positions on the production floor and update the JHAs as needed. Assist EHS Manager in conducting annual refresher trainings to all employees in the area of health, safety, ergonomics, and other required aspects. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety. Assist the EHS Manager prepare for and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings Constantly walk through the production floor to ensure that safety protocols are being followed . Develop a strong relationship with employees and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process in a team based environment. Address any safety concerns with EHS manager immediately. Work collaboratively with different departments to ensure workplace safety. Assist the EHS Manager with employee incident investigations to uncover root cause of incidents and track completions of corrective actions. Help maintain and manage the EHS programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Perform duties safely and to report unsafe conditions or actions. Qualifications/Skills required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work that forms part of the Safety System Documentation. Some familiarity with relevant SOPs related to the position and understand the importance of safety integration in operations. Fully Bilingual in English and Spanish, in both written and verbal communication. Enjoys working and thrives in a team environment, possess excellent interpersonal skills.
