LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED LPNs with Pediatric Private Duty Nursing Experience! Locations: Kissimmee, FL | Orlando,FL About The Role This is a full or part-time position that offers flexible scheduling. The 6:00 am-6:00 pm hours are ideal to accommodate the various scheduling needs of patients and their families. Job Description Under the Director of Nursing's guidance, the LPN nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients, such as the development of social skills, development of daily living skills Provides personal care services to patients including oral hygiene, bathing and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing Provides bed care to patients, repositioning, ambulating, and assisting with elimination needs. Moving to and from wheelchairs, etc. Administers medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously Monitors effects of medications records medication is given and patients' reactions Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in their home Assists/reviews MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy Applicants must be able to travel. TREATMENTS AND PROCEDURES To ensure that patients are receiving the best quality of care, experience with the following conditions is REQUIRED: Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients Valid LPN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing CPR and First Aid certifications required Must be able to pass a Level II background check Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Exceptional time management and attention to detail Prompt documentation and reporting skills Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care To ensure that patients are receiving the best quality of care, experience with the following conditions is REQUIRED: Tube feeding Tracheostomy Wound care Neurological disorders (seizures are common in our patients) Oxygen dependence IV therapy Experience With the Following Conditions Is Highly Desired Premature birth, post-discharge care Chronic lung disease care Feeding - suck/swallow Insulin-dependent diabetes? Failure to thrive - poor weight gain Immune deficiencies Renal failure Spina Bifida Pre/post organ transplant care Genetic disorders Rare disorders Postsurgical long/short-term care Colostomy/ileostomy care
