TDX Global Solutions is recruiting for a Controls Engineer. This is a full-time position located in Swedesboro, NJ. This position reports to the Director of Operations. TDX Global Solutions is located in Swedesboro, NJ just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Leveraging over 100 years of combined experience, we design power generation and balance of plant controls. We manufacture control panels with Programmable Logic Controllers, electric metering and protection, and Human Machine Interfaces. TDX Global Solutions has developed systems for commercial and government clients. Most of our work is in the US Northeast, however we have done work for the US Government in Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, Japan, and Taiwan. JOB SUMMARY: The Power System Controls Engineer is responsible for designing control systems for electrical power generation and distribution systems and balance of plant equipment. Works directly with production shop to oversee control panel build and testing, and with site lead for on-site installation, testing and startup work. Typical work hours are 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Some remote work is acceptable, but applicant must work at the office or on site as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to interpret customer specifications for designing switchgear and controls. Creating documentation for projects including Electrical Schematics, Test Procedures and O&M Manuals. Developing PLC programs, experience with Emerson/GE, Allen-Bradley or Modicon. Creating HMI graphic screens and integrating them with PLC control, Emerson Machine Edition, Allen Bradley Panelview, GE Cimplicity or Inductive Automation Ignition. Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC. Troubleshooting programming and controls on site. Willingness to work overtime shifts on project sites as needed. Able to travel out of state or country for up to 3 weeks at a time. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant work experience. At least 4 years of automation experience. Prior experience with switchgear and controls. Must have a valid drivers' license, in good standing, issued by the state of residence. Must have or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance. Must be a US citizen. COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position. Computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, and AutoCad. Strong technical (mechanical/electrical) and organizational skills. Excellent communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills. Capable of functioning independently and undertaking various technical roles when needed.
