The Residential Closer/Funder is responsible for reviewing Residential Lending closing documentation, ordering funds, issuing funding authorization, following up on needed items, shipping collateral, and purchasing RE (Residential Lending) correspondent loans. The Real Estate Closer/Funder is responsible for working with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure on time delivery and accuracy of loan funds and will be responsible for final balancing of the wire with title and escrow companies prior to requesting the funds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review, balance and draft initial and final CD's (Closing Disclosures); ability to coordinate with settlement agent regarding balancing of fees for closing. Prepare and review RE (Residential Lending) loan closing packages and paperwork. Act as an intermediary between all parties involved in mortgage loan transactions. Review each file ahead of preparing the closing documents to ensure any outstanding conditions will be met by or at closing. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all required documents. Prepare funding requirements that will be used by the title company during the closing. Ensure all closing documentation is completed and executed accurately by all needed parties. Confirm the wire amount in the file balances with title and escrow companies and request funds be sent from one appropriate warehouse bank depending on loan program, FICO (Fair Isaac Corporation), and other factors. Review final Closing Disclosure for accuracy and provide members with updated disclosures, appraisal, and any other information as it applies to coordination of preparing the loan to close. Review final closing docs for funding approval and provide funding authorization to closing table. Follow up post-closing to ensure that all documents have been recorded properly and received by the CU (Credit Union). Provide final loan package to compliance for QC (Quality Control) review. Complete forms and checklists required by investors in a timely manner. Notify appropriate department or personnel of any file deficiencies and respond to missing documentation requests. Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with banking regulations and investor guidelines. Compile, organize, ship and track investor requested RE (Residential Lending) loan documents. Must present a professional image and proper personal appearance according to Credit Union standards. Must be able to communicate professionally via phone/email/in person with Applicants. Members, OCU (Orlando Credit Union) Personnel, and Vendors. Support the Credit Union's culture of compliance by understanding and complying with all federal and state regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) as applicable, including but not limited to adherence with BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money laundering) and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) policies and procedures regarding large currency transactions, monetary instruments, wire transfers, member identification, OFAC screening, the completion of training, and reporting suspicious activity to the BSA Officer. Meet service level agreements. Must perform other duties as assigned. Required Education, Skills, and Abilities Education High School graduate or equivalent. At least 3 years mortgage processing experience and 3 years Member Relations or related experience / displaying accuracy, professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of applicable Federal Regulations. Skills Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills. Demonstrated telephone etiquette skills. Advanced level data processing and Word knowledge (required). Basic level Excel knowledge (required). Provide effective solutions to problems. Must be able to read and interpret general policies and procedures and/or government regulations. Must have the capacity to resolve outstanding issues based on level of authority or knowledge. Must be highly organized and have the ability to handle multiple files concurrently. Must be highly motivated and display effective oral and written communication skills. Abilities & Additional Requirements Ability to read, speak, and write in English proficiently; speak effectively to team members and vendors in person and over the phone. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use calculators for all mathematical functions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate effectively with a diversified membership field. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced, team player, environment. Ability to prioritize workload, maintaining the integrity of confidential member information. Ability to create/maintain departmental reports. Demonstrated ability with Meridian Link Mortgage or similar loan origination platforms. Demonstrated ability with Episys Quest (Symitar) (preferred).
