Position Summary: The Staff Accountant - General Ledger will help maintain accurate financial data, oversee accounts, and work with team members to fulfill various accounting responsibilities for internal and external users. Experience and Knowledge Required: Agree to ACC's doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision statement Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures Accounting degree preferred Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions Experience in problem-solving Strong organizational skills Work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently Ability to handle multiple projects effectively Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Word and Excel Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks Comfortable with data systems Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, as needed Fixed asset and project management Assist in the implementation of financial accounting procedures Manage credit card transactions Assist with accounts payable and check requests Help prepare the annual church budget and facilitate data entry of the budget Maintain confidentiality of all financial data Special projects and other duties as assigned All other duties as assigned
