Job Title: Payroll Analyst Location: Portland, OR / Brighton, CO Duration: Full Time Job Type: Full Time Work Type: Onsite Job Description: General Purpose: Under general direction this position is responsible for the accurate preparation and processing of the U.S. and Canadian company payroll. The Analyst acts as technical resource for payroll, tax, time reporting and employee data; interfacing data into the time reporting and payroll applications and ensuring regulatory and company policy compliance. Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external business colleagues. Responsibilities: Efficient and timely delivery of payroll and tax reporting in compliance with company policies and procedures; maintain compliance with applicable local, state, federal and provincial employment laws within the U.S. and Canada Train new team members and managers on payroll processes Maintain integrity of employee data in UltiPro payroll databases; partner with People & Culture Master Data, IT, and other resources as necessary to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely interfacing of data. Leverage technology with SuccessFactors, SAP, UltiPro and other applications to gain and maximize efficiencies within the payroll and time reporting functions, streamlining, and optimizing operational effectiveness. Implement new systems, tools, and processes to improve data integrity and reporting. Maintain current payroll and time reporting process documentation of standard operating procedures. Support in reviewing and testing of People & Culture system upgrades, implementations, or other assigned projects; partnering with IT and other business units as necessary. This includes creating project plans, test plans, scripts and recommending resources needed. Responsible for developing audits of system data periodically and ongoing to ensure integrity; serve as primary technical resource for SOX audit. Process required payroll and taxation of employees identified by our Global mobility group, partner with Business Unit Global Mobility resource and other Vesta's payroll resources as necessary. Maintain cross training efforts and payroll processing backup plan in the event current staff is unavailable to process payroll. Partner with Benefits resources to provide required payroll and data support for FSA, 401(k), RSP, Benefit portal, etc. Support year end payroll process in coordination with Manager, Finance, and other internal stakeholders Deliver and maintain quality service level with People & Culture team, managers, employees, and external customers. Stay abreast of upcoming statutory and regulatory changes that affect payroll in U.S. and Canada Tier three assistance payroll administrator(s) in resolving any technical payroll or time reporting issues. Develop ad-hoc and custom reports to support efficiencies and accuracy. Other duties and special projects as assigned to support department and corporate processes. Essential Functions: Regular and reliable attendance Required to work every Monday & Tuesday of a payroll week including holidays which occur on a bi-weekly basis. Ability to exercise high levels of confidentiality and discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) Ability to be detail oriented and have accuracy with data entry input. Ability to complete weekly reports and auditing. Ability to work effectively with others in a professional, courteous manner. Education, Training, and Skills Required: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education 5 years payroll experience required in a multi-state, multi-location environment, processing payroll in both U.S. and Canada Global mobility international tax and payroll reporting requirements Analytical skills Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory and provincial requirements in the U.S. and Canada TekWissen® Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
