Who you are:You are a seasoned, insightful, and pragmatic legal professional with deep expertise in employment law and litigation. Known for your sharp intellect and energetic approach, you excel at navigating complex legal matters with practical solutions. You thrive in dynamic environments where you can collaborate, advise, and drive impactful outcomes.What You'll Do:Provide day-to-day global legal advice and counseling regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, hiring, internal investigations, performance management and discharge, wage and hour compliance, employee data privacy, non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements, employment and severance agreements, arbitration agreements and other employment issues, such as diversity and inclusion, workers' compensation and immigration mattersManage all litigation (both class action and single plaintiff claims) related to business and employment defenseEngage in settlement negotiations and mediationsHandle responses to attorney demand letters, subpoenas, government agency investigations, audits and administrative chargesMonitor and ensure compliance related to employment laws across relevant jurisdictions, including international, federal, state and localAssist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies and compliance efforts, including HR systems, processes and proceduresDevelop and deliver employee training programsPartner in the management and oversight of outside counsel engagements for applicable mattersReview, edit and negotiate vendor and consultant agreementsAssist with other legal matters as requiredYou'll Need to Have: J.D. from accredited law school and member in good standing of at least one bar Minimum 5-8 years' experience working as an employmentlitigation lawyer; combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred Experience counseling large and global employers on employment matters (retail experience a plus)Experience in all phases of litigation (including arbitration), from discovery through trialAbility to travel domestically to mediations and depositions is requiredWe'd Love to See:Knowledge of CA and EMEA employment laws is a plusStrong analytical skills; ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situationsAbility to be a strategic and cross-functional partner to the business; creative problem-solving a mustAbility to operate in fast-paced environment with a very high level of autonomyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlinesOutstanding communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and time pressuresTeam playerCapri Perks:Generous Paid Time Off & Holiday ScheduleSummer FridaysInternal mobility across Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael KorsCross-brand DiscountExclusive Employee SalesFav 5 Cards (MK Discount for friends and family)401k MatchPaid Parental LeaveThrive Wellness ProgramCommuter BenefitsGym DiscountsAt Capri, we are all responsible for creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
