The Research Data Associate will work with Medical Center staff and departments, including Directors, Managers, Research Staff, and may interface with patients and their families.The research program, led by Dr. Carol Duh-Leong, focuses on how differences in environments and experiences shape early nutrition security ensuring sustainable access, affordability, and intake of healthful nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood. The research aims to understand how policies and programs may contribute to differences in healthy growth and well-being across the life course, with a particular emphasis on pediatric primary care interventions, adverse social determinants of health, and relational health.This 1-2 year position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in pursuing future careers in population health, medicine, health policy, or any field focused on addressing maternal and child health and the social determinants of health.Job Responsibilities:Research duties: The RDA may be responsible forconducting literature searches and systematic reviews to support research initiatives. The RDA will assist with preparing submissions for grants and manuscripts, ensuring timely completion of all required documents.The RDA may be responsible to translate project-related documents, support patient recruitment, obtain informed consent, and track participation in studies. Additional program duties are to assist with grant administration, and with research dissemination efforts, including preparing PowerPoint presentations, posters, and other materials for conferences and publications.IRB duties: The RDA will support the preparation of InstitutionalReview Board (IRB) materials including the original protocol, amendments, updates, andrenewals, as well as keeping track of all study team member requirements. The RDA will assist with the up keeping of theStudy Regulations binder.Data duties: The RDA will create projects and instruments on RedCap with training provided as needed and will enter all assessment data into RedCap and Excel. The RDA willassist with data cleaning and data management. They will implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects. The RDA will provide data entry and management support, ensuring data quality and integrity.The RDA will learn how to perform basic data analysis, with an opportunity to use statistical software such as Stata, R, or geospatial software like GIS.The RDA will also engage in analysis programming such as Dedoose, so though experience is preferred (and not required), training will be provided by Dr. Duh-Leong and the study team as relevant and needed.Medical chart review duties: The RDA will complete medical chart review at study time points in order to collect vital signs, weight, and any applicable medical information.Thisincludes using the medical record systems at Bellevue, NYU Langone Health, and NYU Langone Brooklyn, and requesting medicalcharts from other institutions where families may have transferred. The RDA will enter all medicalchartreview data into Redcap.General researchadministrativeduties: The RDAwillassistwithday-to-dayprojectactivities including maintaining inventory and purchasingsupplies. The RDA will work closely with the PI, research team, and external collaborators to meet project goals and deadlines. The RDA will coordinate multiple ongoing projects with an ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet critical deadlines. This includes maintaining detailed records of project progress, managing data collection schedules, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed efficiently and accurately.Minimum Qualifications:BA or BS in Public Health-related field or plus one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, demonstrated through experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and maintaining attention to detail in dynamic environments. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. A writing sample will be requested as part of the evaluation process. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Prior experience in a health care settings andor research level interviews is preferred. Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is required. Facility with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience or interest in using Stata andor R for data analysis, GIS for geospatial and Dedoose for qualitative analysis. Ability to work and make decisions independently. Flexible working hours and location (remote, in-person, off-site at community partners location on occasion). Comfortable working with people and in sensitive situations. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $51,243.96 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
