This position provides pivotal leadership and management to diverse, constantly evolving grant-funded translational behavioral medicine research initiatives and related projects within the Center for Healthful Behavior Change in the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity. These projects include qualitative analysis of transcripts and videos of simulated encounters, focus groups, and other interactions.. The position reports to and is guided by a highly respected, experienced faculty member whose expected program outcomes are best facilitated by an individual with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership and personnel management skills, exceptional organizational skills, and experience with patient-oriented, educational, andor interaction-based research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with numerous other professionals across a variety of disciplines, including general medicine, community medicine, epidemiology, linguistics, and psychometrics. Points of intervention include individual and group work with patients and families, community members, as well as with clinicians and other patient-facing staff.Job Responsibilities:Understand each projects specific aims, program plan, timeline, reporting requirements, budget allocations, key personnel, and partnersCoordinate the development of projects training and intervention materialsParticipate in and contribute to the development, implementation and management of new programs andor program components, including relevant grant submissionsDevelopment of qualitative codebooks; conducting interviewsfocus groups.Qualitative analysis (e.g., content analysis, linguistic analysis ) of survey responses, interviews, simulated and real clinical encounters, etc.Assists in the translation and dissemination of findings for policy, health care delivery system, and diverse community audiences.Monitor and evaluate programsprojects using mixed methods approaches and makes recommendations for improvementCoordinate the planning, development, and submission of grant applicationsWith the lead faculty author, develop first drafts of manuscripts, abstracts, and professional presentationsManage the planning, conduct and follow-up activities for research projects. Ensure quality assurance.Attends collaborative meetings and team meetings.Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a MS degree with at least 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:Doctoral degree preferably in public health, health education, psychology, population health, or medicine. Experience working in prior management position; work in prior research position; working knowledge of the field of health care, population health, health education, psychology; prior experience with mixed methods approaches, grant application processes, IRB and manuscript preparation. Substantial experience from having completed Post Doc training. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $67,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
