Requirements Job Description: We are looking for a full time position for a Structural Engineer, PE with 3-8 years of experience. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on the qualifications described below. This candidate will support both our technology and commercial engineering sectors, while managing and/or designing the applicable projects. Candidates will be evaluated based upon their design experiences and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Additional evaluation metrics will consist of design experience with timber, concrete, masonry, and steel. Good interpersonal skills are also required as employee management and frequent client interaction will be part of the candidates' responsibilities. Our industrial division works is involved with some of the largest technology innovators and projects on the planet, while our commercial building division is involved in a wide variety of building projects ranging from retail to multi-story commercial structures, high end residential, mid level multi-family housing, K-12 schools, medical, retail, industrial, and seismic retrofit projects. Summary of Position Responsibilities: KAEKO is seeking a Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer is responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work associated with structural engineering. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist project managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client's needs and budget. Responsible for technical design, guidance, and quality oversight, including code review, on all project work involving structural engineering. Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specification for discipline area. Acts as the Engineer of record. Provide real-time advice and decisions, technical in nature and cost estimates as needed. Review and direct revisions to design packages as required. Provide technical training and development to staff, supervise, coordinate, and review the work of less experienced engineers and designers. Review as-builds, submittals, and redlines. Coordinate with all disciplines involved (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, etc.), including with code officials and contractors. Technical interface with code officials and contractors. Participate in meetings with Customers and Owners to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas. Coordinate changes and gather information from various resources to enable correct information flow. Review and interpret engineering specifications. Provide professional guidance, leadership, and training to other personnel. Minimum Requirements: 3+ years' experience of structural engineering in the consulting engineering industry or a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus. Licensed Professional Engineer with Arizona registration. Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam. Good understanding of the construction process. Familiar with NDS, AISC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI, and International Building Codes Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Familiar with construction documents.
