We offer individuals a wide range of programs, services, and support tailored to their specific needs.Job DescriptionAHRC New York City is seeking a Full Time Psychologist or Postdoctoral Fellow (PhD/PsyD) to work in the agency's Department of Family and Clinical Services. The Department of Family and Clinical Services operates two primary outpatient clinics in Manhattan and the Bronx as well as providing services at satellite locations and telehealth throughout the 5 boroughs. Our team is composed of psychologists, social workers, and rehab service professionals who have a passion for the work they do. For Postdoctoral Fellows, one hour of supervision will be provided weekly by a Licensed Psychologist. The Psychologist or Postdoctoral Fellow will provide psychological assessment and psychotherapy treatment for the Developmental Disabilities population. Psychological testing is conducted to identify the nature and extent of an individual's developmental disability. Such testing is often necessary to determine whether a person is eligible for services or for admission to a specific program. A variety of psychological tests are used including the Wechsler tests, Stanford Binet, Vineland, and Autism assessment tools. From these assessment tools, the Psychologist or Postdoctoral Fellow prepares a summation and interpretation of results in the form of a psychological report.Psychotherapy is provided for persons with Developmental Disabilities who have a co-occurring psychiatric condition. Psychotherapy treatment is conducted with diverse clients across the lifespan including child/adolescent, adult, family, and group. Collateral Counseling is provided for their families. Behavioral, CBT, Psychodynamic, Systemic and DBT techniques are used. The psychology team within the Department of Family and Clinical Services is committed to utilizing best practice treatment. In keeping with this pursuit, the Psychologist will also participate in training activities for our APA Accredited Psychology Internship program, which was established in 1995.
