Job Overview: Leads the Process Systems Engineering efforts for projects, proposals and follow-up activities, all while having a solid understanding of the process technology. Relied upon for continuous improvement of process systems design. Represents Lummus in Client meetings at home or abroad. Acts as a bridge between process design and systems engineering. Details of the Role Represents Lummus in P&ID review meetings with Client and third parties Participates in commissioning and start-up of petrochemical facilities Represents Lummus in safety review meetings such as HAZOP/PHA/LOPA/SIL Guides junior engineers in execution of Systems Engineering activities Performs Systems Engineering tasks such as hydraulic calculations, pumps and instruments specification, including PSVs Develops basic process control philosophies Identifies new concepts and leads technical development that expands the company's capabilities Influences/persuades colleagues, management and clients on technical resolutions and new ideas Takes charge in an area whether assigned or not. Provides guidance and accepts responsibility in area of expertise Influences change or direction that adds value to the organization Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum Requirements: BSChE degree minimum requirement At least 10 years relevant experience preferred Solid knowledge of Chemical Engineering disciplines Working knowledge of code requirements, standards (API) and industry safety standards Knowledge of Lummus technologies such as Ethylene and Catofin is a pre Familiarity with plant wide systems such as flare, steam and condensate, cooling water, fuel gas, regeneration, drain systems, waste water treatment systems (etc) Experience with the entire trajectory of a project: Basic Design, Detailed Engineering, Commissioning, Startup Excellent English written and verbal communications skills Interacts successfully with Lummus colleagues and external clients in all areas of expertise Ability to deliver effective technical presentations Ability to supervise team members and to advise and mentor in areas of expertise Ability and willingness to travel (domestic/international, approximately 20%) to represent Lummus in P&ID reviews, HAZOPs and to lead field assignments such as plant inspection and startup, etc. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Able to represent the Company in professional & respected manner Global awareness/perspective and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Company Overview: With a heritage spanning more than 115 years and a focus on innovation that has resulted in more than 140 technologies and 4,100 patents, Lummus is the global leader in the development and implementation of process technologies that make modern life possible.
