Job Description Purpose of the role To assess and approve/decline credit applications based on established credit policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirement and analysing financial information, evaluating creditworthiness, and recommending credit terms and conditions to ensure responsible lending practices. Accountabilities Analysis of lending applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the borrower's creditworthiness and repayment capacity. Monitoring the performance of approved lending , identifying potential risks and early warning signs of delinquency. Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions. Provision of independent credit decisions on lending applications, adhering to established credit policies, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements. Development and implementation of appropriate course of action for troubled lending , including workout plans, restructuring, or collections. Vice President Expectations To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for navigating the intricate world of hedge funds and private equity funds, shaping the future of finance with every decision. Your expertise will guide risk assessments, trade approvals, and the structuring of deals that safeguard our legacy and client's futures. To be successful as a WCR Funds Sanctioner - Private Equity VP, you should have experience with: Directly managing a credit risk portfolio focused on private equity Conducting initial credit due diligence and writing credit papers for new Private Equity clients by completely understanding the investment process and strategy, risk management approach and products traded including approving the appropriate credit limits. Maintaining ongoing client and stakeholders dialogue, managing portfolio risk and exposures, and preparing annual credit reviews. Maintaining integrity of credit risk function whilst ensuring that the team continues to fully assist Front Office relationship and sales staff. Identifying sector or client difficulties, providing direct support to the team to ensure that appropriate action is taken to mitigate credit risk. Requesting increases/ changes in limits following Credit approval. Maintaining data integrity of appropriate Credit Risk systems (e.g. GCIS), ensuring they reflect the approved sanctions and are in complaint with risk policies and regulations. Approving utilization of sanctioned limits within discretion and resolving limit excesses. Ensuring approvals are within the defined Limits and Mandate & Scale set for the sector. Performing counterparty/borrower due diligence, including participation in meetings with client senior management, Relationship Executives, and Sales personnel. Keeping up to date with market developments affecting the private equity sector for example regulatory updates, market trends and industry specific risk that affect the investments Some other highly valued skills may include: Thorough understanding of legal documentation, primarily ISDA and GMRA agreements, with expertise in identifying and utilizing key risk mitigation clauses essential for effective risk management. Proficient understanding of risk metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR), Potential Future Exposure(PFE), and stress testing. Ample verbal and written communication skills to articulate risk assessments and strategies clearly to stakeholders Product knowledge across several derivative and financing products also familiarity with performance metrics used in private equity You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills The role is located in New York Minimum Salary: $165,000 Maximum Salary: $225,000 The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
