Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, train and motivate store porters/housekeeping team. Ascertain that your team follows company's rules and policies. Available to travel to other stores based on company needs. Must be able to assist external customers when necessary and write sales orders. Prepare your team's schedules. Take disciplinary action on your team when necessary. Complete your team's performance evaluations. Assist inventory audits when necessary. Assume the functions of the Merchandise Leader if necessary. Report furniture or accessories that are damaged and fill out the "broken accessory form", when necessary. Must attend, support or perform, if necessary daily, the 15/15 presentation. Fill out all the forms required by the company and deliver them in the stipulated time. Responsible of all change of location (COL) of all furniture and accessories of the showroom. Responsible for sending invoices of received cleaning supplies to the corresponding department. Print the reports established by the Merchandise department. Request the necessary tools for the work of your team as well as keep control of cleaning supplies, coffee and water. Supervise the touch-up of furniture, floors and walls and assist when necessary. Record on the computer all changes in the location of the merchandise throughout the store. Monitor the movement of furniture and accessories throughout the showroom for inventory purposes. Process the entry and exit of merchandise from the store through ISTs. Supervise and assist to unload and assemble merchandise from IST trucks. Supervise the assembly of the merchandise to ensure that it is in optimal conditions to put it on the floor. Keep store lights in excellent condition. Make sure that the carpet rack is in excellent condition. Work in coordination with the Head Designer to make sure that the wall of paintings and mirrors looks good. Responsible that all qualifying merchandise has its swatch (sample). Assists decorators and sales associates to move heavy pieces. Receive, prepare and inventory all accessories that enter the showroom. The preparation consists of helping to open the pallets, clean the accessories, identify and mark them, put felts and the price Supervise the cleaning of the store, which included toilets, boulevard, entrance inside and outside the store, customer care area, sales associate's lounge, cafeterias, taxis, decoration cars and pets and other assigned rooms. During company events, assist in serving food as well as in organizing and cleaning. Responsible for the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the store and assist the team in keeping them clean. In charge of supervising that the team is conducting the furniture check to determine if they are complying with the security measures. Responsible for supervising the cleaning of all the furniture inside and out and assist team when necessary. Responsible for the cleaning and organization of the store warehouse. In charge of keeping the store furniture in good condition and free of damage. Create floor sample prices complying with the indications of the Merchandise Leader. Publish them in the sales room and keep them up to date. Responsible for the prices of the store, which include printing, placing them accordingly and making sure that they are all in good condition, that all the items in the showroom are marked and with their corresponding price. Supervise that all areas have the necessary signs and announcements. Other tasks may be assigned as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Ability to lead and be followed by others Possess an excellent attitude. Organized person. Team player. Likes to work in teams and can carry good personal relationships. Be personable but in a professional and organized manner. English and Spanish preferred. Physical Demands This position requires standing and walking for long periods of time. May carry pieces that weigh more than 75 pounds. The Head Porter will use ladders or operate a forklift for hard to reach objects.
