The Regional Estimator will support sales in developing cost estimates for the installation of structured cabling projects. Estimates will include all the necessary materials, labor, and engineering costs required to deliver a profitable job which meets or exceeds customer requirements. This position also coordinates sales to project management transition activities. Core Duties & Responsibilities: This role will be a local presence for support of regional work, under the guidance and support of the national estimation manager. Primary responsibilities will be to cover work requests in the local market and this position may be utilized as a resource for national work requests, if needed. This role will require work be performed in an office environment. Site walks for local projects will be a requirement in this role. Safety is E2 Optics' number one Core Value. Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture Responds to bid specifications, writing scope of work, developing cost estimates, predicting the duration of the project, and including contingencies. Estimates the amount and type of material required to deliver the bid specification. Provides complete project engineering and estimating labor. Assists the sales organization by attending site-walk and pre-bid meetings, documenting site conditions for use in the development of accurate cost estimates. Ensures timely completion of and meets bid schedules and deadlines. Acts as liaison between and meet with sales, project management and operations to effectively transition projects and streamline communications. Recommends vendors and materials to obtain best solution, most competitive price, and proper lead-times. Reads and understand blueprints. Establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Obtain knowledge on other technologies, as directed by customer demand. Contribute to product selection research, configuration standards, and best practices Help educate our sales teams on our products and services. Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel locally as required by E2 Optics. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years' experience estimating large scale new commercial construction projects including industrial, healthcare facilities, commercial structured cable projects as well as local data centers. Structured Cabling/Low Voltage industry experience required. Bluebeam for plans and takeoffs experience is required. Education: High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's/Bachelor's Degree is preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company. Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. Impeccable problem-solving skills and demonstrated detail orientation. Proficient with reading and understanding blueprints of building floor plans and construction designs. Demonstrated and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work in teams and foster confidence in all. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
