Description Position at Long Island Rail Road Title: Stores Truck Driver Department: Procurement & Logistics Post Date: 11/14/2024 Close Date: 11/29/2024 100% Hourly Rate of Pay: $37.906* (See Wage Progression Chart) Position Classification: Non-Safety Sensitive Location: Queens Reports To: Deputy Chief Stores Officer Union Affiliation: Transportation Communications Union SUMMARY This primary purpose of this position is to transport material to all LIRR outlying points. Responsible to ensure the safe and efficient transport and pick up of materials, which include heavy equipment such as wheel sets, train cars, motors, oil, and drums between all LIRR shops. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: • Operate all types of gasoline driven vehicles including trucks with lifts and booms, automobiles, and all material handling equipment. • Assist in the loading and unloading of all types of material and equipment that the needs of service require. • Operate two-way radio equipment. • Responsible to review all materials, verify inventory, and conduct pre-operational and post-safety inspections of assigned vehicles at the beginning and end of each shift. • Responsible to report any problems with vehicles to the supervisor and obtain a signed copy of all materials delivered. QUALIFICATIONS • Must possess a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or TASC) approved by a State's Department of Education or recognized accredited organization. • Must be qualified to operate all types of gasoline driven vehicles. • Must be physically able to assist in the loading and unloading of material. • Must possess a New York State Class "B" CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement with no air brake restrictions. • Must possess a New York State Class "A" CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement with no air brake restrictions within three months of awarded position. Training will be provided. • Must be familiar with emergency truck maintenance and inspection procedures as stipulated by New York State and the Company. • Must be familiar with New York City and State roads, highways, and expressways as they relate to Long Island Rail Road's properties. • Must possess approved safety shoes in accordance with TCU agreement. Wage Progression for New Employees: Rate: $37.9062 is the 100% hourly rate of pay. 70% - 1st 365 Calendar Days 70% - 2nd 365 Calendar Days 75% - 3rd 365 Calendar Days 80% - 4th 365 Calendar Days 85% - 5th 365 Calendar Days 85% - 6th 365 Calendar Days 90% - 7th 365 Calendar Days 100% - After 2,555 Calendar Days.
