Requisition ID: req56181 Job Title: Payroll Analyst Sector: Finance Employment Category: Regular Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: USD 26.00 - 33.00 Hourly Location: New York, NY HQ USA Work Arrangement:Open to Remote Job Description Background/IRC Summary: The IRC Finance department seeks to achieve excellence in financial management by providing accurate and timely financial information to IRC management and programs and by adhering to established financial practices and accounting principles. The HQ Finance Team does this by supporting and training staff, by implementing and monitoring the implementation of IRC and donor policies and procedures, and by gathering the necessary financial information in preparation of the organizations' financial statements. Job Overview/Summary: The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of both bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, while also providing analytical insights and reporting. The Payroll Analyst will report to the Senior Payroll Officer and will work closely with the Payroll Manager, HQ finance team, Human Resources, and finance staff both within the US and international offices. Major Responsibilities: Payroll Administration • Calculate and process pay adjustments, gross-ups for Expat Tax, and other payroll-related entries in ADP. • Reconcile payroll accounts with the Payroll Manager and provide backup to the accounting team. • Review manual calculations for new hires, terminations, and leave of absence. • Verify new hire direct deposit and tax information in ADP for accuracy against source. • Liaison with HR Operations on overpayment calculations, collections, and ADP data entry. Data Management and Reconciliation • Reconcile Workday and ADP active employee records, and deductions utilizing Synkronizer, before finalizing payroll. Provide discrepancies and comparison between Workday and ADP to Senior Payroll Officer. • Liaise with country officers to resolve account balances discrepancies and salary allocation issues. Reporting and Compliance • Prepare and submit Benefit Deduction Reports to the HR Benefits Team for each bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycle. • Generate post-payroll reports for Benefit deductions and submit them to Benefit department and outside vendors. • Review daily cash reports to identify and reissue employee payment returns. • Respond to garnishments and set up deductions in ADP. • Generate ADPR reports for non-us bank accounts and F/X calculations for monthly salary payments funding. Employee Contributions and Benefits • Upload employees' contribution to Fidelity and prepare monthly payment voucher for the International Retirement Plan. • Adjust employee contributions to fidelity and empower as needed and prepare ER Match True-up contributions for all employees after the calendar year-end. • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Payroll Officer or Director, Shared Services Finance. Job Requirements: • Minimum 2-3 years knowledge of the payroll function including preparation balancing, internal controls, and payroll allocations. • B.A or B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work accurately, pay attention to details, and consistently meet deadlines • Proven aptitude with numbers and the ability to accurately process detailed information • Attention to detail, a drive for accuracy and a strong work ethic • Solid organizational skills: the ability to be productive under pressure in a fast-paced team environment. • Flexible work attitude: the ability to be flexible and yet focused & reliable in an environment of frequently changing demands. • Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Excel, & Outlook • Experience with payroll software required Working Environment: • Standard work office environment, with remote work option available Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
