Job SummaryEnvironmental Health and Safety Specialist for immediate 6 month contract to direct opportunity for a growing company in the Billerica, MA area. The right person will have 3+ years of experience managing EH&S aspects, programs and regulations in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.This person will be responsible for overseeing all EH&S plans, policies and procedures and ensuring complete regulatory compliance. Must be a great communicator, team player and have a passion for this role.Apply now for this great opportunity!ResponsibilitiesHealth plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations.Responsible for environmental plans, policies and proceduresEnsure conformance to corporate policies related to EH&S for continuous improvementMaintain systems for reporting, monitoring, and reducing EH&S risksSupport new and existing laboratorytesting operations by evaluating risks with team members and leaders.Develop and oversee internal site EH&S auditing processes and trackingEducate leadership on safety, health and environmental best practices including: prevention, risk assessment and safe experimental designResponsible for safety incident management processes including Worker's Compensation program and regulatory agency reporting ensuring complianceSupport the internal liaisons during communication between applicable regulatory and government agencies. Files and or posts reports as required by external legal and convening agencies such as OSHA 300300A Logs, SARA Tier II, etc.Requirements3+ years of experience managing EH&S aspects, programs and regulations in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.PreferredB.S. in health and safety, environmental management, or a combination of equivalent education and experienceProfessional EH&S certifications are desirable such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) andorCertified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)EH&S subject matter knowledge, especially in technical areas to support engineering and laboratory activitiesCompetence with chemical, industrial hygiene and electrical safety conceptsExperience with OSHA's Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories standard (29 CFR 1910.1450)Experience managing environmental permits and aspects such as wastewater discharge, air emissions and hazardous waste disposalExcellent communication skills with ability to work with a variety of stakeholders globallyAbility to handle confidential information with the highest degree of integrityAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, and high-growth work environment in a positive and constructive mannerMust be able to travel occasionally and sometimes maintain work a flexible scheduleProficiency with Microsoft platforms and familiar with database platform usageAbility to be on call 247 for emergencies when requiredQualificationsExperience level: ExperiencedMinimum 4 years of experienceEducation: BachelorsSkillsGreat AttitudeData ManagementEHSEnvironmental Health SafetyEHS ComplianceContinuous ImprovementSafetyCertified Safety Professional
