(see E Ink │ Life at E Ink). About the position: This position is in the R&D department. Its primary responsibility is to develop electronic inkencapsulation technologies targeting electrophoretic display applications. The position requires hands-on experience with microfluidic devices for emulsions generation, encapsulation techniques, formulation development, and coating production and testing with limited oversight from project leaders. In addition, it will analyze data to compare formulation vs performance.The position works with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and requires good communications skills, ability to collaborate, and high level of creativity. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to broaden their knowledge of other scientific fields such as materials synthesis, colloid chemistry, optical and electronic engineering, physics and color science.The position is primarily based on-site.Key Responsibilities:Work independently and collaboratively with other team members in planning and conducting laboratory experiments in the field of encapsulationDirectly contribute to the development of new designs including new emulsification and encapsulation processesmaterialsCollaborate with other team members to develop optimal methods for performance assessmentWork with development groups to transfer and scale technologyKeep development on track, balancing speed and scientific rigorCommunicate clearly and document results regarding project landmarks, deliver presentations to the technical community and to senior managementContribute to intellectual property of the company by generating patentable innovations Qualifications:PhD in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science or equivalent relevant industrial experience5+ years of industry experienceExperience with industrial process R&D, in particular with microfluidics, including device operation and designSolid knowledge of fluid dynamics, colloidal science and microencapsulationStrong materials characterization and data analysis skillsGood technical writing and oral communication skillsAbility to solve problems with good people and time-management skillsHighly self-motivated and resourcefulBenefits:Competitive total compensation packageMedical, dental and vision on 1st dayCompany 401K match20 PTO daysGenerous sick leave policyCasual day to day work environmentE Ink is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
