Network Engineer

The Mid-Level Network Engineer (CCNP) will design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures that support mission-critical applications and services. The ideal candidate has experience with WANSD-WAN, cloud networks, and network security. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and working with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements.Responsibilities:Design, deploy, and manage scalable LANWAN network infrastructure according to client and business needs.Configure and manage network devices, including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.Implement and monitor network security protocols, ensuring protection from unauthorized access and maintaining the network's integrity.Monitor network performance, capacity planning, and make recommendations for optimization.Troubleshoot and resolve advanced networking issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.Perform routine network maintenance, including patches, firmware updates, and hardware installations.Implement and manage advanced routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS) and VLAN configurations.Configure and manage SD-WAN and cloud connectivity in Azure and AWS environments.Prepare and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network infrastructure and security.Requirements:Certification: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is required.Experience: 3-5 years in network engineering, with hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., ASA, Nexus).Networking Skills: Proficiency in LANWAN design, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS), VPNs, VLANs, and QoS.Cybersecurity Basics: Familiarity with network security protocols, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and VPN configurations.Cloud Knowledge: Hands-on experience with networking in Azure and AWS.Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.Tools: Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).Documentation: Excellent communication and documentation skills, including network diagrams and configurations.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with SD-WAN solutions and wireless network technologies (e.g., Cisco Wireless).Knowledge of VoIP, QoS, NAC, and security tools.Cisco certification CCNP and beyond (e.g., CCIE).Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.What We Offer:Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Flexible work environment and professional development opportunities.SwiftWorks Technology is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
