Our Controller is responsible for overseeing a range of aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Job Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Conduct detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecast, and provide actionable insights. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, working closely with department heads to set and monitor financial goals. Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement. Internal Controls & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and any relevant regulatory requirements. Manage and coordinate external audits, responding to audit findings and implementing recommendations as necessary. Cash Flow & Treasury Management Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company meets its financial obligations. Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions to optimize banking arrangements and loan covenants. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Support professional growth and cross-functional knowledge within the finance team. Strategic Planning & Financial Support Support the executive team in developing long-term financial strategies and evaluating investment opportunities. Provide financial insight to support strategic initiatives, product launches, capital expenditures, and M&A activity as required. Influence positively and mentor less experienced team members, serving as a credible source of knowledge; provide feedback to such individual. Advanced accounting and financial reporting software application skills required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required. CPA or CMA preferred. Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills P&L reports and analysis Sage Intacct Preferred Payroll experience including commission and 401k contributions Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting A minimum of three years experience in one of the following with a Top Ten public accounting firm: accounting, advisory, financial audit, or transaction experience Strong current knowledge in United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
