Job DescriptionOur client, an academic medical center located in the New York City Metro area, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for their HematologyOncology department. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a collegial, patient-focused Health with a rich history of providing excellent evidence based and compassionate care to the communities. Join our Client's growing Cancer and Blood practice in an infusion center. The center offers comprehensive services, extensive tumor boards, excellent radiology, and pathology as well as clinical trials. Radiation Oncology services are offered on site.ResponsibilitiesProvide general adult oncology and hematology services all in a warm, professional, and collegial atmosphere. Develop, implement, and track patient education efforts as it relates to chemotherapy, blood replacement products, growth factors as well as psychosocial concerns of patients, family and caretakers related to diagnosis of Cancer and the underlying disease. Collaborate with HematologyOncology Attending to independently manage the Infusion Center in the care and treatment of patients receiving chemotherapyblood products, growth factors, and supportive care. Independently conduct screenings for all types of cancers in an outpatient clinical setting Complete patient's history and physical exams, review laboratory results and order appropriate tests, provide discharge instructions and patient education, and monitor follow-up appointments. Obtain consent for infusionsprocedures and monitor pre and post procedure status of patients. Collaborate with oncologist to develop care plans for patients, and document history, orders, notes and ongoing evaluation of patients. Assure quality of care and standards are maintained; participate in daily rounds; and serve as liaison to referring physicians and external transfers. Collaborate with physicians to execute related duties as directed.RequirementsMaster of Science degree in Nursing - Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (preferred) or Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctorate of Nursing Practice preferred Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department. Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must possess current, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse license and Nurse Practitioner license Experience in Hematology Oncology preferred Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in acute care setting, preferred, for at least four years Seeking both experienced (2 years and above) and newly trained providers Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration Must possess active MedicareMedicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll BLS or ACLS certification required Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office Bilingual Spanish (preferred)Job PerksCompetitive salary, great benefits, and other attractive incentives Generous PTO All major insurances (health, life, disability) Work-life balance is valued A team environment that believes in employee development, professional growth, and company longevity Culture is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and equality The organization embraces and values an inclusive work environmentSalary: The posted range is not a guarantee.
