Summary: The Schedule consists of Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pmInterCommunity HealthCare is currently seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a combination of medical administrative duties and medical assisting duties. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills. The Administrative Medical Assistant will ensure smooth operations and support healthcare professionals.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:As an Administrative Medical Assistant at InterCommunity HealthCare, you will be responsible for a variety of medical secretary and medical assisting duties. This includes answering calls, verifying insurance, scanning and indexing documents, as well as assisting with patient care when needed.Answering calls and providing information to patients and healthcare professionalsVerifying insurance coverage Scanning and indexing medical records and documentsRooming patients and gathering vital signsAssisting with prior authorizations for medical procedures and treatmentsPerforming phlebotomy and other point-of-care testingGathering patient medical history and updating electronic health recordsCollaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient careMaintaining cleanliness and organization in patient care areasMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, care plans, progress notes, and services rendered.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and healthcare policies and procedures.Adhere to all federal and state regulations and guidelines.Always maintain patient confidentiality.Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation &/Or Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Licensed through an accredited Medical Assistant program. Holds a valid registered medical assisting accreditation preferred.
