Eliot is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP department and play a key role within the Finance team. This position will oversee daily AP operations, manage vendor payments, employee expenses, and client benefit programs. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of accounts payable experience, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team. In this hands-on role, the manager will work alongside three AP specialists to set a strong example and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to financial compliance are essential. Responsibilities: Oversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, company credit card activity & employee expenses. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate Accounts Payable staff to ensure their job responsibilities are being performed efficiently and effectively. Code and process vendor invoices ensuring accuracy and completeness. Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues and discrepancies. Monitor and resolve AP email mailboxes daily. Schedule and prepare payments, ensuring timely disbursement. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies. Assist in month end closes and annual audits. Prepare and maintain financial reports related to accounts payable activities. Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Maintain vendor W9 records and assist Accounting Manager with 1099 filings. Manage client benefit programs including food stamps & clothing / emergency funding. Maintain accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of all financial records. Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in finance related field or 5 years' experience in an accounts payable position required. Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications including MS Excel. Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements. Must be proficient in English and possess and convey effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with staff, coworkers and supervisor. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
