Job Description Group: AbbVie Development Sciences (Dev Sci) is an integrated, cross-functional R&D organization that includes CMC (Process R&D, Drug Product Development and Analytical R&D), Biological Sciences (Preclinical Safety and Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics & Bioanalysis) and Clinical Drug Supply Management functions responsible for the development of small molecule pharmaceuticals and therapeutic biologics from Discovery Candidate Selection through late stage clinical. Data & Digital Strategy CORE team within Development Sciences defines and executes our data and digital strategy in collaboration with Dev Sci subject matter experts and Information Research (IR). The Data & Digital Strategy team partners cross-functionally to build and maintain a data and systems architecture that enables world-class knowledge management, data analytics and predictive modelling capabilities. Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our Data & Digital Strategy team within the Development Sciences department. The ideal candidate will specialize in automating reports, have experience or a strong interest in using the Windward Report Automation platform & utilizing other cutting-edge Gen AI capabilities. This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and implement automated reporting solutions that drive efficiencies and insights across the organization. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions using the Windward Report Automation platform. Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions for generating reports from various data sources. Ensure high levels of data quality and integrity in all reporting solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to report generation and automation. Continuously improve and optimize reporting processes for reuse, efficiency and scalability. Document technical designs, processes, and solutions for ongoing use and maintenance. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to data reporting and automation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a scientific discipline with relevant informatics experience. 5-8 years of relevant experience in software engineering, with a focus on report automation and data reporting tools. Experienced in using scripting language (SQL, RestAPI's, Python) to optimize coding for template creation Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Solid understanding of SQL and data manipulation. Experience with ETL processes and data integration. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred: Experience with the Windward Report Automation platform. Familiarity with other reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Crystal Reports. Knowledge of biopharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
