SNF nurse provides a range of services that supports a patient/resident meet their daily needs. Reports to Supervisor of Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: Receives and provides adequate reports on all patients. Assesses, plans and implements client care. Receives and transcribes doctor's orders. Assists with physical examinations, makes round of assigned clients following guidelines of institution. Wound care , including Stasic Ulcers. Administering oxygen, and changing dressings. Inserts and irrigates urinary catheters. Administers and document Medications given PO, IM, and Intravenously. Discontinues or hangs additional intravenous bottles and piggybacks. Obtains laboratory specimens. Administers CPR and other emergency procedures as necessary. Care for patients who need close monitoring and frequent assessment. Perform EKG and interpret. Administer medication through an intravenous line that may need to be adjusted or titrated. Education and Experience Requirements: RN /LPN license in good standing. Must have one year of experience in SNF - Skilled Nursing Facility. Graduate of accredited Nursing School. Must have current AHA BLS required, AHA ACLS preferred.
