Find your place in technology of #TeamAmex. **Job Description:** The GNOC Tools and Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring and automation tools within a global network operations center (GNOC) environment. This role combines tool management expertise (Splunk, Spectrum, ExtraHop) with Python scripting for self-healing automation and front-end development to support application team portals. The engineer will drive automation initiatives, enhance monitoring capabilities, and provide a seamless user experience for stakeholders interacting with monitoring and operational data. **Job Responsibilities:** * Tool Management and Optimization: * Administer, configure, and optimize monitoring tools such as Splunk, Spectrum, and ExtraHop. * Create and refine dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time visibility into network performance, security threats, and operational issues. * Conduct tool health checks, manage upgrades, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability. * Automation and Self-Healing Development: * Develop Python scripts to automate monitoring workflows, self-healing mechanisms, and incident response processes. * Implement automation solutions that detect and resolve common network issues without human intervention, improving overall efficiency and reducing downtime. * Collaborate with network engineers to identify key areas for automation and build robust, scalable scripts. * Front-End Development for Application Portals: * Design and develop user-friendly web portals that provide real-time data visualization and access to key network metrics for application teams. * Integrate monitoring tools into custom front-end interfaces, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. * Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and continuously enhance portal features based on feedback. * Integration and Collaboration: * Integrate Splunk, Spectrum, and ExtraHop with other IT systems and platforms to create a unified monitoring and automation ecosystem. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, network engineers, and security teams, to align monitoring and automation strategies with business objectives. * Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: * Document tool configurations, automation workflows, and front-end development processes. * Develop and deliver training sessions to educate network operations staff and application teams on the use of portals, dashboards, and automated solutions. **Qualifications:** * 4 years of experience in network architecture/engineering, DNS, automation engineering, or related roles. * Proficiency in administering and configuring Splunk, Spectrum, and ExtraHop * Strong Python scripting skills, with experience developing automation and self-healing solutions. * Experience with docker, piranha, and Kafka * Solid understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and troubleshooting methodologies. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating issues. * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. **Education Requirement:** + Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information technology. **Preferred Additional Skills:** * Relevant certifications in Splunk, Spectrum, ExtraHop, or Python. * Experience in a global network operations center (GNOC) environment. * Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident and problem management. * Experience with additional automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) **Qualifications** Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
