Overview The Compliance Management Operations (CMO) team within the Business Ethics & Compliance organization collaborates with various business units (BUs) to provide tools and resources for effective compliance management. The Project Specialist will work with organizations to ensure adherence to CMO processes, including documentation, training, reporting, and follow-up. This role will support the Department Manager in Regulatory Intake Governance, the expansion of standardized regulatory administration, and the technical administration of subsite admins for organizational regulatory intake within the designated software system. Also, the candidate will help develop Global Compliance Performance Metrics and conduct associated analyses to identify and implement compliance improvement plans as needed. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities This role will be on a hybrid work schedule. Participate in Planning: Contribute to the development of short, mid, and long-term plans for Compliance Management Operations, focusing on engagement and process implementation with the regulated businesses of CEl. Assists in continued governance and assurance that the regulated businesses are effectively managing compliance through use of the compliance framework elements and continuous process improvements. Consistently ensures organizations promote a culture of integrity, self-manage regulatory compliance, identify & mitigate risk and document compliance while tabulating metrics to measure performance in the area. Regulatory Strategy Development: Develop and implement governance strategies specific to regulatory intake and program management that ensures organizational compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves assessing regulatory risks and advising business units on the best approaches to meet regulatory objectives. Implement a Regulatory Intake Management System: Utilize Compliance.AI or a similar platform to automate and streamline regulatory intake processes. Collaborate with the technology team to ensure seamless integration with the GRC system. Leverage this technology to monitor and manage regulatory changes, ensuring its expansion to business units. Streamline the regulatory intake process by business unit or commodity. Work with business units to understand and document their specific regulatory intake processes. Assist in data reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of regulatory intake. Advising Management: Advise program managers on compliance issues and recommend actions to ensure ongoing adherence to regulations e.g. best methodolagies in intaking and interpreting new laws and regulations. Develop a Change Management Plan: Create a structured governance plan for managing regulatory changes throughout the organization. This includes steps for assessing the impact of new regulations, updating policies, and communicating changes to all stakeholders.Conducts regular training sessions for employees to keep them informed about improved regulatory intake processes and methodology to self-implement for their business areas. Use communications techniques, analysis and methods to engage organizations successfully. Policy Development: Help to develop company policy to ensure alignment of regulatory intake throughout the company. Ensures business units implements consistent practices by utilizing the data management tools offered by Compliance Management. Work with the Technology section to develop and implement processes that ensures consistent documentation practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, such as legal, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure that all aspects of the companys operations comply with regulatory terfaces and collaborates with Company groups that presently have responsibilities for regulatory intake &/or compliance. By working with applicable groups, assist in incorporating or managing changes necessary to ensure enterprise solutions will promote best practices and verbatim compliance, as applicable. Assists in the preparation and issuance of internal Company reports that measure Company operating organization compliance performance and provide feedback to business units on areas for improvement. Contribute to Key Performance Indicators that will assist Compliance Management to define and measure progress toward organizational goals. Perform other tasks and assignments as required. All of the foregoing is expected to be handled by Project Specialist (2H) - with a moderate level of supervision Direct, mentor and teach lower band specialists within the Compliance Group. Direction will include assigning and reviewing work, collaboration on new strategies, methods and development of successful compliance programs. Qualifications Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Law, Business Administration or related and 3 years of relevant work experience Project Management or Software/Policy Administration, or Business Analytics. or Master's Degree Engineering, Law, Business Administration or related and 3 years of relevant work experience Project Management or Software/Policy Administration, or Business Analytics. Preferred Education/Experience Master's Degree Engineering, Law, Business Administration or related and 3 years of relevant work experience Project Management or Software/Policy Administration, or Business Analytics. Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Law, Business Administration or related and 3 years of relevant work experience Project Management or Software/Policy Administration, or Business Analytics. Relevant Work Experience 3-5 years Experience managing and developing presentations and communication plans Required 3-5 years Experience working as a liaison between business units, vendors and IT in the development of Software programs Required 3-5 years Demonstrated knowledge and leadership agility and proven track record of achieving sustainable results in managing projects, systems implementation and process documentations Required Demonstrated experience in regulatory program management, regulatory affairs, or a related field Required 3-5 years Experience within utility industry is preferred. Other industries (such as pharmaceuticals, finance, healthcare, etc.) Preferred Experience in using data analytics and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Qlik or related) Preferred Experience in regulatory compliance, auditing, governance or quality assurance Preferred Using and/or implementing GRC tools, i.e. RSA Archer Preferred Skills And Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Project Demonstrated project management skills Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills Excellent collaboration and team building skills Experience in a regulated environment Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. Licenses And Certfications Driver's License Required Project Management Professional (PMP) Project Management Certification Upon Hire Preferred Other: Analytics Certification Upon Hire Preferred Additional Physical Demands Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
