Registered Nurse Resource Pool at Intermountain Wood Products in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Job Description You. You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Float Registered Nurse on our Medical Surgical Floors. You will float to Med Surg, Ortho Medical Trauma, Medical Oncology Palliative Care, Observation and Neuro Surgical Trauma. Us. Our 286-bed Level II Trauma Center has provided care in Montana and the surrounding area since 1898. As a Float Medical Surgical Registered Nurse with us, you'll never know what to expect, but you will know how to: + Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively + Work collaboratively as a team with physician partners and peers + Work in a fast paced environment + Foster quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients in mind + Comply with procedural and documentation guidelines + Oversee care delivered by CNA's + Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures + Communicate professionally, compassionately and effectively Posting Specifics + Shift details: Full-Time NIGHT Shifts + Will work in all Med-Surg areas + St. Vincent Hospital Minimum Qualifications We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: + Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required + BSN within 48 months of hire, required + Minimum of one (1) year of current RN experience in acute care M/S, required + Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required + Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire, required + Current NIH Stroke certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire, required + Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team, required + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, required + Experience in understanding and usage of computers and ability to learn new programs, required Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. and Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. and Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. and Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
