Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time)

General Description The Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time) performs ongoing preventative maintenance, repair work, and monitors physical plant systems, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems. This position occasionally performs maintenance on an "on-call" basis. The Operations Assistant maintains and monitors the appearance of the facility and follows all appropriate safety practices and procedures while on the job. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs preventative maintenance and repair of, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and building systems. (Major repairs may be performed with or by 3rd party vendors under the supervision of facilities staff) Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for maintenance procedures and maintains records of maintenance performed. Ensures the efficient and prompt handling of all department work orders and requests. Performs facility inspections and reports on conditions affecting operations. May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment Basic knowledge of A/V equipment a plus Responds to emergency maintenance requests during and after normal hours of operation to resolve immediate safety concerns and ensure operational readiness. Assists with the renovation/remodeling of galleries; drywall repair, and painting of building structures. May obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts. Performs general landscaping, weeding, watering, and tree trimming. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health and safety. Notifies management about safety concerns. Must have a high school degree or equivalent. Must be able to occasionally work additional shifts to provide required coverage. Other Requirements of the Maintenance Assistant  Able to pass a criminal background check. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including standing for long periods of time, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
