As a member of the Technology Infrastructure Team, this individual provides the technical knowledge and support required to maintain the diverse network infrastructure maintained by I&P for all departments in city government. This position receives supervision and management from the Technology Infrastructure Senior Manager. Department : Innovation and Performance Salary : $81,074 per year. Posting Type : Announcement. WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show four (4) years of full-time network experience which includes: performing systems analysis, design, development, implementation and/or programming. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.) EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. A relevant certification, such as CCNA or CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, obtained within the last 5 years. EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). Medical: None required for this position. POSITION DUTIES Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots network operating systems. Performs all network related troubleshooting across multiple distributed sites, including tier 1, 2 & 3 network troubleshooting. Installs and configures networking equipment, including but not limited to, servers, routers, switches and cabling. Configures networking protocols to ensure proper communications in accordance to best practices. Ensures the security of City wide network, including, but not limited to Firewalls, VPN, Patching, and Incident Response. Develops, establishes, and maintains working relationships with management, staff, users, vendors and others. Develops procedures, operating guides and documentation. Assists with establishing and evaluating new technologies in the City with regards to industry, direction, and future. Provides backup to other engineers and technicians. Performs wireless site-surveys. Maintains records, both manually and by computer, and prepares accurate reports. Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
