University of Pittsburgh, Department of Radiology Assistant Professor Full-Time, Non-Tenure Medical Physicist The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Radiology and Radiation Safety Office is recruiting for a clinically experienced diagnostic medical physicist to initiate and manage a CAMP-ED accredited residency program. This will be a full-time Assistant Professor appointment supporting radiation safety for core hospitals and imaging centers. The individual will work closely with a team of medical and health physicists with various backgrounds. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Job responsibilities include: This position is responsible for providing radiation physics support of radiographic, fluoroscopic, CT, mammographic, nuclear medicine, and PET imaging modalities at the affiliated University of Pittsburgh Medical Center UPMC Hospitals. Quality assurance and acceptance testing of imaging equipment, optimization of imaging protocols, routine compliance testing, support of ACR accreditation, participation in new equipment specification, radiation safety, and shielding design. Management and oversight of the CAMP-EP accredited residency program, once approved, may also support some academic research activities. A successful candidate should have the following qualifications: Ph.D. in medical physics or a related field Board certification in diagnostic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology Demonstrated excellent organizational, project management, and written/oral communication skills are required. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
