This job was posted by : For more information, please see: BASIC FUNCTION: / To clean and perform routine housekeeping and maintenance of campus buildings, including residence halls, classrooms, and administrative offices; to serve as a team leader for a small crew of custodial/housekeeping staff, and/or to coordinate/carry out a specialized custodial/maintenance function. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: / Clean floors: vacuum, sweep, dust mop, wash, strip, wax, buff./ Wash windows, walls, chalkboards, trash cans./ Dust furniture, fixtures, woodwork./ Empty trash receptacles and pick up litter in and around buildings./ Clean and stock bathrooms, change and clean shower curtains./ Replace lightbulbs./ Move furniture./ Do routine maintenance of electrical, heating and ventilating vents and fixtures./ Serve as a team leader for a small crew of custodial/housekeeping staff: train new employees; issue daily work assignments; monitor work in progress and check completed work; assist staff with problems or unusual situations; handle minor personnel problems; report significant personnel problems to Custodial/Housekeeping Supervisor./ Coordinate and carry out a specialized custodial/maintenance function, such as refinishing floors and shampooing carpets, performing special swimming pool maintenance tasks including vacuuming, chemical regulation and backwashing and the like./ Perform related duties as assigned.
