Our New York City office is seeking a Civil Engineer with structural focus. The successful new hire will learn and experience waterfront/marine structural projects. This position provides you with an opportunity to grow within the engineering profession by participating in the design of large-scale, highly complex waterfront structural engineering projects the in the coastal resiliency, shipping, defense, oil and gas, and offshore wind industries! Work will be completed under the guidance of a talented team of waterfront structural engineers and designers. The successful candidate will have well-developed technical skills and a team-oriented attitude. Participate in the conceptual development and design of waterfront structural projects Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete and steel structures Analyze static and dynamic loading on laterally performing structures including the impact of soil-structure interaction Develop finite element models of marine structures using SAP2000 and Xtract Prepare calculations and document design information for completed designs Coordinate structural detail development with engineers and drafting technicians Perform site inspections and condition assessments of existing structures Obtain hands-on experience by performing field inspections for construction projects you have participated in during design Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis required and 2 to 4 years of structural experience Master of Science in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis and entry to 4 years of experience Engineer In Training certification Familiarity with AutoCAD or comparable drafting platform is required Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or comparable equivalent is required Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check in compliance with NIST Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Base salary range: $76,743 to $93,797 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the New York City market. Physical requirements: Majority of work is office based. Site visits will necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
