Nestl R&D Center (Solon, OH) is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Laboratory Intern (6 months to a year; part-time roughly 20 hours a week). Overview The Laboratory Intern will be an essential part of our research and development (R&D) projects, focusing on the physical and chemical analyses of frozen and chilled foods. This role is crucial for maintaining laboratory hygiene and ensuring strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Key Responsibilities Conduct R&D projects related to physical and chemical analysis and experimentation. Ensure compliance with GLP standards. Perform analytical testing (e.g., dough rheology, sauce emulsification, viscosity, texture profile analysis) according to validated procedures and within specified timelines. Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of Gas Chromatography-MS/O equipment. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from sample receipt through to sample preparation and result reporting. Participate in daily laboratory safety and housekeeping activities. Qualifications Current Undergrad in a STEM-related field. Experience in analytical testing is preferred. Previous experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous. A result-oriented, flexible, and open-minded attitude. A strong scientific curiosity and a willingness to receive coaching.
