The Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology of NYU School of Medicine invites applications for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Infectious Diseases-trained Clinician Educator at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Positions are based at NYU Langone Health and NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, the major teaching affiliate of the NYU School of Medicine. At NYU Langone Health responsibilities include : Attending on the hospital's inpatient Infectious Diseases consult services, Providing ambulatory care in the NYU faculty group practice Participating in teaching activities of the Division. At NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, the role is for an Associate Hospital Epidemiologist whose responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work closely with the Hospital Epidemiologist/Director of Infection Control and the Infection Prevention and Control team to decrease or eliminate healthcare associated infections in patients, staff and visitors. Work closely with the infectious diseases consult teams, Bellevue microbiology lab, inpatient and outpatient clinical departments, EVS, operations/facilities, and other multidisciplinary partners. Attend regular meetings including the Infection Control Committee, weekly Surveillance Team meetings and represent the IPC department at other departmental meetings. Work closely with the hospital epidemiologist to provide leadership and support for programs aimed at reducing CLABSIs, CAUTIs and other hospital acquired infections, and the Hand Hygiene campaign. Collaborate with IPC team for the planning and direction of surveillance activities. Coordinate the data analysis obtained from surveillance activities and prepare the results for distribution to the appropriate committees, authorities, and staff. Provide support for epidemiologic investigation of clusters, outbreaks or potential outbreaks of infection, or other problem areas as requested by hospital administration, and make recommendations for prevention and control measures. Support expansion of IPC activities in Ambulatory Care Participate in educational programs for medical staff and other employees in matters of infection control Participate in the development, review, and revision of Infection Control policies of the hospital, specific clinical departments, and hospital support services Participate directly, or through other members of the Surveillance Team, in activities or committees related to product evaluation, performance improvement and risk management. Participate in regulatory visits (e.g. JACHO visits, Medical Board, DOH visits) as needed. Other responsibilities: The position also involves attending on Bellevue's inpatient general ID consult service and/or ambulatory clinics.
