Environmental Scientist/Engineer BBandE is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BBandE team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. Position Summary BBandE is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Hybrid) to join our team, supporting the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC/CZP) at Travis Air Force Base, CA. This role combines technical expertise with a passion for environmental stewardship to ensure compliance with environmental policies and the protection of natural resources as they relate to military operations. The position offers a hybrid work environment, giving the candidate the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely, depending on project needs. JobDuties andResponsibilities Technical Expertise and Consultation: Provide expert scientific and technical guidance to governmental agencies, specifically regarding environmental compliance and sustainable practices within military operations. Environmental Standards and Policy Implementation: Review, interpret, and implement environmental regulations, technical standards, and guidelines, ensuring they meet all relevant legislative and operational requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring that the Air Force's mission is in full compliance with environmental policies. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct thorough data collection, synthesis, and analysis related to environmental conditions and regulatory activities. Report findings to both internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with military personnel, government agencies, and environmental program managers to coordinate environmental protection efforts that safeguard both natural resources and DoD mission success. KeyQualifications U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance (NACI). Military Experience: Prior experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Air Force, including knowledge of how legislative and regulatory changes impact DoD missions. Legislative Knowledge: Proficiency in navigating State Legislature databases, including tools like StateScape, to track and prioritize legislative impacts. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously. Experienceand Education Experience: Between three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in environmental science or engineering, with at least three (3) years focused on military missions and operational support. Education: A Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Physical Science, or Toxicology from an accredited institution. Physical Requirements Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Work Environment: Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Occasionally required to navigate rough terrain, work in confined spaces, and operate at heights. PPE and Safety: Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
