The NP provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. In addition, the NP is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. Damaged floorswallsceiling tilesunsecured areas) and medical errors.QualificationsRequired:APP with a current NJ licenseCurrent NJ APN license requiredNCCPA, DEA, CDS, ACLS, and BLSCandidate should possess effective time management and critical care skills,Experience and knowledge of HIV is preferredExperience working with urban populations of multiple ethnic and cultural backgroundsWill consider the right new graduate APPScheduling RequirementsPer DiemDayEssential FunctionsPerforms comprehensive history, physical, and psychosocial assessment to clients attending the Infectious Disease, Center for Comprehensive Care clinic,Diagnoses and treats common acute conditions, illnesses or minor trauma within legally accepted protocols in collaboration with the physician,Develops a treatment plan on every client,Assesses the client's psychosocial, emotional, physiologic and environmental needs and prioritiesInforms, teaches, counsels, and guides the client and to assume responsibility for the management of his or her own health careEvaluates the client's response to the medical treatment and revises the plan of care as appropriateParticipates in the clinics quality assurance plan by working toward clinic and required grant goalsParticipates in clinic audits by assisting in the preparing of client charts,Responsible for adhering to and promoting clinics policies and procedures,Participates in grand rounds and case conferences,Attends in-services programs and continuing education to increase knowledge base,Participates in clinical and departmental meetings and trainings as necessary and appropriate,Maintains required organizational and departmental specific competencies,Demonstrates flexibilities to meet staffing needs of departmentorganization,Acts as a role model and resource person for those who are working directly and indirectly with the clients,Promotes and fosters a positive work atmosphere,Performs other duties as assigned,Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
