With a full range of diesel and electric pumps available to purchase or rent, Godwin pumps are used for dewatering and liquids transfer in mining, constructions, municipal and industrial projects around the world. The Role: Xylem seeks a Road Mechanic to meet the needs of our customers by servicing and repairing Godwin pumping equipment in a safe and efficient manner as needed by our customers. The Road Mechanic will assist in servicing and repairing Godwin pumping equipment, as well as work to record parts and labor accurately on Godwin Work Orders and Internal Equipment Repair forms. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: •Perform routine service and repair of Godwin fleet equipment on customers' job site. •Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages. Report damages to Operations Manager. •Document a list of parts for servicing fleet equipment. Review list of parts with Operations manager and obtain permission to continue with servicing and repair. •Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality. •Participate in the on-call list for off-hours servicing and repairs. •Carry a Company cell phone for communications on-hours and off-hours. •Assist in the set-up of Godwin pumping equipment as necessary. Additional Duties Include: •Complete disassembly and repair of Godwin fleet equipment •Testing of diesel and electric driven Dri-Primeí’pumps •Wiring electric submersible pumps from 230 to 460 (and back) •Testing electric submersibles for proper rotation •General diesel engine repair knowledge Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: •Excellent mechanical aptitude •Ability to handle manual tools and power operated tools •Legible handwriting •Ability to operate a 10,000+ pound service vehicle safely and effectively for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions •Ability to operate a forklift Licenses or Specialized Training: •Valid state issued driver license; commercial license preferred •Current DOT medical card •Forklift certification preferred •Meet and continuously maintain authorization to operate a company vehicle based on requirements of Godwin Pumps Vehicle Rules, Use, Authorization & Motor Vehicle Report Program Physical Demands: (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
