To learn more about CIBC, please visit The Loan Syndications team is responsible for supporting the Middle Market Commercial & Industrial Lending business ("C&I") and/or Commercial Real Estate ("CRE"). Roles within the syndications team are on the Underwriting & Portfolio Management team or the Sales & Origination team. Reporting to the Head of C&I (or CRE) Syndications, the Loan Syndications Sales and Origination Director or Executive Director will be responsible for supporting the Commercial and Industrial Line of business in originating new CIBC led syndicated transactions. This professional will have specific coverage areas (geography or industry) as well as P&L responsibility within the group. Additionally, this professional will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining co-lender relationships. Key Accountabilities: Relationship building - You will grow and develop relationships not only internally but externally, too. You'll develop a co-lender investor base, including expanding existing and adding new co-lenders. You'll build external brand awareness in the syndication market. Teamwork - You'll work in tandem with Portfolio Managers and Underwriters to ensure consistent syndications coverage. You'll collaborate and help to enhance the syndication platform & offerings. Production - Your performance will be based heavily off of your revenue generation, fee generation and cultivation of new co-lenders. Maintaining market knowledge and industry awareness, and effectively communicating knowledge to others within CIBC. Knowledge/Skills: Preferred Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher Minimum 10+ years of direct C&I and/or CRE finance/credit experience Ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities to manage a high volume of transactions Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Capital Markets and Syndications experience is a plus.
