Description The IT Program Manager primary responsibilities include managing the Project Management Office program and the Center of Excellence program, aligning them with the company's strategic goals. This role will also support the Enterprise Applications team through a product management program, ensuring that project outputs cohesively contribute to the organization's IT objectives. Finally, this role will be accountable for overseeing continuous process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across all IT programs. Job Details Location: Indianapolis, Indiana Role Specific Responsibilities: Establish and maintain robust program governance to ensure consistent and effective oversight of all program activities and decision-making processes. Provide strategic roadmap of short-term and long-term development of each program. Oversee and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring effective delivery of enterprise and functional projects in controlled and supportive environments, respectively. Ensure IT organization complies with project management governance. Mentor project managers and IT team leaders on mature project management, building a high-performing team culture within the IT department. Direct and coordinate the activities of the Center of Excellence (CoE), implementing a directive approach to manage and execute projects. Mentor and develop CoE Manager on team development. Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Applications team to align product management initiatives with the broader IT strategy. Act as a liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management to ensure clear communication and alignment with organizational goals. Monitor and report on program performance, including financials, timelines, and resource allocation, to ensure adherence to budget and schedules. Implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, working with the Process Analyst to identify and implement process enhancements. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout all program activities. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement in IT services. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Review all IT contract service orders for compliance with IT program governance. Generate reports for senior management, including proposed project score cards, project health, and resource utilization. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned Compliance: Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times Problem Solving and Innovation: Active participation in continuous improvement activities Participates in problem-solving Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Professional Project Management (PMP) certification. Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma certification. Minimum of 15 years of direct work experience in an IT project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Global resource management experience engaging team across several time zones. Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects. Experience in both technical and business process management. Working knowledge of PMI PMBOK framework. Working knowledge of PMI standards for Program Management. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in project management software, MS Office 365, SharePoint, and Visio . Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. High level of problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box. Display high levels of flexibility and adaptability. Proven experience developing and implementing creative solutions. Display bias for action and ability to complete projects. Demonstrate ability to articulate and drive a team towards a strategic vision. Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibitrobust interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment. Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities.
